Connecticut Advanced Pavement Lab (CAP Lab)

About the Connecticut Advanced Pavement Laboratory

The Connecticut Advanced Pavement Lab (CAP Lab) is a program of the Connecticut Transportation Institute at the University of Connecticut. CAP Lab serves the needs of Connecticut, and the other New England states, by acting as a resource for state agencies and the hot mix asphalt industry. We provide advice on mix acceptance issues and field construction, as well as the Superpave test procedures.

CAP Lab performs research on various pavement-related topics and serves as a regional training center for transportation construction engineers and inspectors. Lab personnel are active with the Connecticut Department of Transportation task forces for the improvement of hot mix asphalt pavements.
